Fear

I read tonight that fear is an indicator of what we must do!

"Resistance is experienced as fear, the degree of fear equates the strength of resistance. Therefore the more fear we feel about a specific enterprise, the more certain we can be that the enterprise is important to us and to the growth of our soul. That's why we feel so much resistance. If it meant nothing to us, there'd be no resistance."

Wow, beautiful. Were called to live the desires of our heart, Karl Barth says "We say we believe we will die but we don't really believe it." We live like this life will just last forever. We complain and hope that one day things will be different, that they will be better. We plan on doing the desires of our hearts later, when the timing is better. The truth is, timing will never be perfect. We must DO. DO the desires of your heart, to glorify God. There's something radical about people who give up so much just to gain so much more, its because they longed for it. They have a passion for it, whatever it may be.

One of my favorite quotes is "For he is no fool who gives away what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose." Thats a slap of truth.

Lets all be who we want to be, start mapping out what our desires are and act on them, lets do it soon. We won't live forever.

& Let it begin

I am going to Thailand this summer.

I love saying that, it just sounds so unreal to me. I can't wait to finally just GO. This adventure is finally beginning! The fundraising, the prayer, the reading, the preparing. I sent out my letters yesterday, and am starting fundraisers now. Please be praying that peoples hearts will be full to give! I know God will provide the $4,000 I need. Maybe even more, with God, who even knows!?!


Anybody know any Thai? Teach me!

Slow like a turtle

Learned a lot this week. Prayed a lot this week. Battled with myself a lot this week, but it ended up being a great one. God comes through with everything doesnt he?
SUCH a good and convicting verse that I need to be reminded with more is James 1:19
"Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger."

Amen. Happy New Year!

Oh, and I miss my sister. Alot this week. I keep replaying the day we said bye at the airport, pretty sad stuff. She's doing amazing things though, and that is something to be joyful about.
